My name is Nur Michael Keith. I'm a musician/guitarist/improviser/spiritual seeker. - I started as a rock guitarist in the 80's but later moved to the blues. - I toured and performed constantly in the blues through the 90's. - By the 00's I was completely devoted to free improvisation . Much recording and some International gigs with incredible musicians. - Since 2018 I have lived on a small island in BC Canada. Many local gigs and much recording of a hybrid type of original music. - Throughout my career I have studied and investigated numerous world instruments and their music. Kurdish Iranian tanbour, South Indian veena and the Chinese guqin are a few. - I have been fortunate enough to have performed throughout Canada as well as Taiwan, France and Italy.
My music is a deep spiritual and devotional practice that is always moving.

I began a fascination with freely improvised music in my early thirties. I worked in this area very intensely for almost a decade. I recorded many times and even played in Europe for the first and only time(so far). i continue to practice this mode of playing and coninue to record hours of it.
